“bleed” in Spanish
Definition
Perder sangre del cuerpo por un corte, una herida o una enfermedad. También puede usarse cuando un color o una sustancia se extiende sobre otra, o cuando alguien pierde mucho dinero.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Se usa sobre todo para la sangre: 'My finger is bleeding'. Una expresión médica común es 'bleed to death'. También aparece en sentido figurado, como 'The company is bleeding money', y en contextos de tinta o telas, como 'The red ink bled through the paper'. Normalmente es intransitivo; se dice más 'cause to bleed' que 'make bleed'.
