어떤 것보다 아래 위치에 있거나, 지위나 가치가 더 낮음을 나타냅니다.

‘beneath’는 ‘under’, ‘below’에 비해 더 격식 있고 문학적입니다. 위치뿐 아니라, ‘beneath me’처럼 상대적인 가치나 자격 부족도 표현합니다. 수치나 단계에는 ‘below’가 더 자주 쓰입니다.

The shoes are beneath the bed.

신발은 침대 **아래에** 있어요.

A river flows beneath the bridge.
