Definition

障壁とは、動きや進歩、コミュニケーションを妨げるものです。壁やフェンスのような物理的なものや、問題・規則といった目に見えないものも指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「障壁」「バリア」は物理的にも比喩的にも使います（例：'language barrier'、'trade barrier'）。'remove'、'break'、'overcome' などの動詞とよく一緒に使われます。防御の意味もあります。'bar'（バーなど）と混同しないようにしてください。
