Definition

무엇이나 누군가가 갑자기 보이거나 등장할 때 사용한다. 또한 어떤 상태로 보일 때도 쓴다.

Usage Notes (Korean)

'나타나다'는 직접적으로 보이게 될 때, '~해 보이다'는 어떤 인상을 줄 때 사용한다. 'show up'이나 'seem'보다 좀 더 격식 있는 표현이다. 'appear to be', 'appear in/on/at', 'it appears that' 같은 구성에서 사용됨.
