Definition

কোনো কিছুকের কতো আছে, বিশেষ করে যেসব জিনিস একে একে গোনা যায় না, সেটাকে পরিমাণ বলে। অর্থের মোট অঙ্ককেও বোঝাতে পারে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'Amount of' সাধারণত অগণনীয় পদার্থের সঙ্গে ব্যবহৃত হয়: 'a small amount of water'। গণনীয় জিনিসে 'number of' ভালো: 'a large number of people'। সাধারণ কথাবার্তায় 'the total amount', 'a certain amount of', 'amount to' ব্যবহৃত হয়।

The amount on the bill is wrong.
