'আঠা' সাধারণত দৈনন্দিন কথায় ব্যবহৃত হয়, কিন্তু 'adhesive' বেশি প্রযুক্তিগত বা কারখানাগত প্রসঙ্গে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'Adhesive tape' মানে 'আঠালো টেপ'।
