Definition

何かを急に強く引っ張ったりねじったりして、痛みやけがを引き起こすこと。心が強く痛む時にも使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に怪我や痛み（例：『足首をひねった』）や感情的な苦しみ（例：『胸が締めつけられた』）を表す時に使う。道具の「レンチ」とは意味が違うので注意。
