風が吹いてくる側や方向のこと。主に航海や天気の話で使われる表現です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

航海や天気の専門用語で、日常会話ではあまり使いません。「leeward（風下）」が反対語です。「風上側」「風上に進む」などの表現で使います。
