갑자기 그리고 무책임하게 누군가나 맡은 역할(일, 가족 등)을 떠나는 것.

비격식적 표현; 주로 관계나 책임에서 갑자기 떠날 때 쓴다('walk out on a partner/job/family'). 무책임하고 갑작스러움을 내포한다. 단순히 자리를 뜨는 'walk out'과 다르다.
