水や液体などが細くゆっくり流れること。また、物事や人が少しずつ時間をかけて現れる場合にも使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

液体にだけでなく、人や情報、金銭などが少しずつ来る場合にも使う。'a trickle of water'は細い流れ、'drip'はポツポツ落ちることを示す。
