必要なものを背負って自然の中を長距離歩くこと。場所によっては家を持たずにさまよう意味もある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

ニュージーランドやイギリスではハイキングやトレッキングの意味でよく使います（'go tramping'など）。アメリカでは古い言い方で、ホームレス状態を指します。“tramp”という言葉を人に使うのは避けましょう。
