本や雑誌のページなどを親指でめくる、あるいは親指で何かを押すことを表します。特に素早くページをめくる時によく使われます。

「thumbed through」のように本や雑誌をざっと見る場面でよく使います。親指以外の指にはほぼ使いません。やや口語的な表現です。
