主に法的・公式な文書で使われる、前述の事柄に「それについて」や「それのために」という意味の非常にフォーマルな語です。

非常に格式ばった表現で、日常会話やカジュアルな文章では使いません。「therefore（したがって）」とは異なるので混同しないように注意しましょう。主に法的・技術的文書で見かけます。
