意図せず火がついたり燃え始めること。軍事的な文脈では突然攻撃を受ける意味もある。

日常会話よりも文学・技術・軍事文脈でよく使う。対象物（家、車）と共に多い。軍事では攻撃を受ける意。'set fire'（意図的に火をつける）とは別。
