Definition
Comenzar a arder o prender fuego, generalmente de manera accidental. También puede significar recibir un ataque repentino (especialmente con armas) en contexto militar.

Más común en contextos literarios, técnicos o militares que en habla cotidiana. Se usa con objetos ('la casa', 'el coche'). En ámbito militar, 'take fire' es ser atacado con armas. Distinto de 'set fire' (prender fuego a propósito).
