Definition

高い場所から急速かつなめらかに下に移動すること。特に鳥や飛行機、物が勢いよく降りる動きに使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

鳥や飛行機、物が急に速く降りてくる時に使う。'come down'より臨場感がある。人が階段を下りる時には使わない。'on'とともに ('sweep down on its prey') 使われることが多い。
