向對手放棄或不再抵抗，通常指正式承認失敗。也可以指把控制權或所有權交給別人。

多用於正式或軍事場合，也可用於比喻如情感（「向情感投降」）。常見搭配如「向警察投降」、「交出鑰匙」。不表示暫時的停止。
