Definition
イギリスなどで相談や書類作成を行う弁護士を指します。アメリカではあまり使われず、営業や募金活動をする人を指す場合があります。

イギリス独自の法律職であり、『barrister』とは役割が異なります。アメリカでは『solicitor』はあまり使われず、『lawyer』が一般的です。アメリカの「No solicitors」サインは訪問販売お断りの意味です。
