Definition

스케이트를 타고 주위를 도는 것 또는 (더 자주) 어려운 질문 등을 직접적으로 답하지 않고 회피하는 것.

주로 비격식적으로 사용. 'skate around the issue/question'와 같이 주제를 회피할 때 쓰임. 'skate over'(완전히 무시하다)와 혼동하지 않도록.

She likes to skate around the park with her friends.

그녀는 친구들과 공원 주위를 **스케이트 타며** 돌아다니는 걸 좋아해요.

The politician tried to skate around the difficult question.
