Definition

買う、修理する、または借りる前に、物の状態をしっかりと確認すること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にイギリス英語で使われ、ややフォーマルです。家や車などを購入前に使います。『inspect』『look over』の意味に近いですが、ただ見るだけではありません。『see over＝上記参照』とは別の意味です。
