「言う」の昔の言い方で、主に聖書や歴史的な文書で使われます。

現代の会話や文章では使わず、昔の宗教書や文献にのみ見られます。
Examples
He saith he is the king.
彼は自分が王だと**曰う**。
The wise man saith nothing.
賢者は何も**言わぬ**。
'Peace,' the angel saith to them.
「平和であれ」と天使が彼らに**曰く**。
As the old book saith, patience is a virtue.
古い書には、忍耐は美徳だと**曰く**。
