意図せず相手をイライラさせたり、不快にさせること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルな言い方で、無意識に相手の気分を害した際によく使います。「I hope I didn't rub you the wrong way.（気を悪くさせていなければいいけど）」などと謝る時によく使われます。物理的な接触ではありません。
