빨래를 집게로 빨랫줄에 널어 말리다. 영국 영어에서 속어로 '죽다'라는 뜻도 있다.

'Peg out'는 주로 영국에서 쓰이고, '죽다'의 뜻은 아주 비격식적이다. 빨래를 널다의 의미는 영국·호주식 영어에서 자주 쓴다. 전기 건조기에는 쓰지 않는다. 'peg down'과 혼동하지 말 것.
