如果某物「特價」，意思是價格比平時低，或是可供購買。在美國通常表示有折扣，有時也可指可購買。

美式英語裡「on sale」幾乎總是指折價。英式英語有時也表示可購買。常見搭配如「on sale for $10」。不要和「for sale」混淆，後者只表示可以買。

These shoes are on sale for $20.

這雙鞋**特價**只要20美元。

Many books are on sale at the bookstore this week.
