Definition

ルクスは、光の照度（明るさ）を示す単位で、ある面にどれだけの光が当たっているかを表します。科学や工学の分野で明るさを量るときに使われます。

「ルクス」は日常会話ではあまり使われず、照明設計や写真、理科など専門的な分野で使います。「光」と同じ意味では使いません。例：「ルクスを測る」「ルクスレベル」など。

The classroom needs at least 300 lux of light for students to read comfortably.
