"leave up" in Korean

그대로 두다내려놓지 않다

Definition

아래로 내리지 않거나 위치를 바꾸지 않는 것, 주로 걸려 있거나 전시된 것, 세팅된 것(예: 그림, 장식 등)에 대해 사용함. 치워도 되지만 일부러 그대로 두는 경우에 씀.

주로 구어체로, 집에서 포스터나 장식, 변기 뚜껑 등 물리적인 것에 많이 씀. '내려놓지 않는다'는 의미. 'leave it up', 'should I leave this up?' 같은 표현에 자주 나옴. 비유적으로는 거의 안 씀.

Should I leave up the birthday decorations for another day?

생일 장식을 하루 더 **그대로 두어야** 할까?

Please leave up the picture on the wall.

그 그림을 벽에 **그대로 두어 주세요**.

You can leave up the holiday lights until next week.
