病気やけがで、しばらくの間ベッドで休まなければならない状態を指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「寝込む」や「寝たきり」は長期間動けない時に使います。軽い風邪や短時間の休養には使いません。「laid off」や「laid out」とは意味が違います。
