「in line」は列になって並ぶこと、または何かと一致・調和している状態を表します。

主にアメリカ英語で使われ、「stand in line」は順番待ち、「in line with」は基準や意見に合っている時に使います。イギリス英語では「queue」が一般的。「online」とは異なるので注意。

We waited in line for tickets.
