Definition

何かによって支えられたり、吊るされたりしている状態。比喩的に何かに全てがかかっている状態も表す。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

物理的に吊るされている状況、あるいは『hang by a thread』のように危機的状況を表す比喩にも使います。「hang out」と混同しないよう注意。
