Definition

衛兵とは、特別な軍隊や精鋭部隊に属し、重要人物や建物、場所を守る任務を持つ兵士のことです。

「衛兵」は警備員（セキュリティ）とは異なり、主に儀式や守衛を担当する軍の兵士を指します。「近衛兵」は英国王室などの特別な精鋭部隊を指す場合に使います。
