どれだけ能力があっても、女性やマイノリティが昇進やリーダー職に就くのを妨げる見えない壁のこと。

職場や社会の見えづらい壁を表す比喩的表現。『break（破る）』『hit（ぶつかる）』『face（直面する）』などとよく使われます。個人の努力不足ではなく、制度的な障害を指します。
