何かを決める前に、注意深く考えたり話し合ったりすること。個人の深い思考や、正式な会議の話し合いの過程も表す。

「deliberation」は法廷や会議など、公式な場面で使われます。「jury deliberation」（陪審審議）のように用いられ、日常の軽い思考には使いません。

The jury began their deliberation after the trial ended.

裁判が終わると、陪審員たちは**審議**を始めた。
