"cry it out" in Japanese
Definition
自分や誰か（特に赤ちゃん）が、気持ちが落ち着くまで泣くことを許すこと。赤ちゃんをすぐにあやさず、ひとりで泣かせておく場合にも使われる。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
「cry it out」は育児（特に寝かしつけ）でよく使われ、「let him/her cry it out」は「泣かせておく」という意味。感情を発散したい大人にも使うカジュアルな表現。
