예상하지 않게 우연히 누군가를 만나는 것. 일상에서 흔히 일어남.

관용표현이며 주로 비공식적으로 사용. 계획된 만남이 아니라 우연한, 짧은 만남을 의미함. 물리적으로 길을 건넌다는 의미는 아님.

I crossed paths with my old teacher at the supermarket.
