Definition

작은 동물이나 새가 내는, 높고 빠르며 가벼운 소리를 내는 것. 주로 다람쥐, 박쥐, 새에게 자주 쓰임.

주로 동물에게 쓰이며 사람에게는 거의 쓰이지 않는다. 묘사나 소설 등에서 자주 등장한다. 'chattering'와는 구분할 것.

We heard birds chittering in the trees.

우리는 나무에서 새들이 **짹짹거리는** 소리를 들었다.
