Llegar a entusiasmarse o involucrarse tanto que uno olvida ser cuidadoso o controlado; suele usarse cuando alguien hace algo en exceso por estar muy entusiasmado.

Expresión informal, suele usarse con 'get' como en 'don't get carried away'. Indica perder el control por entusiasmo. No es literal, es figurativo.
