A performance, especially in music or singing, by two people together; can also refer to the piece of music written for two performers.
Usage & Nuances
Most common in music; can be used for instrumental or vocal pieces. 'Duet' always involves two performers—any gender. Do not confuse with 'duo' (the pair themselves, not the performance). Often used as both noun (“a duet”) and less commonly verb (“to duet”).
