• 手で合図して進ませる

Definition

手やジェスチャーで、誰かに前に進む・通る・続けるよう合図すること。相手に進む許可や励ましを示す時に使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

運転時や混雑した場所で他人を先に行かせるときによく使われる。話し言葉ではなく、必ずジェスチャー。'wave at'（手を振って挨拶する）とは異なるので注意。

Examples

The police officer waved on the cars at the intersection.

警官は交差点で車に**手で合図して進ませた**。
