以恩典或居高臨下的態度給予某人某物，通常帶有正式或施捨的語氣。

極為正式、帶有古典色彩的詞，平時對話很少用。多見於文學或正式演講中。常帶施捨、優越感意味。日常場合可用「允許」或「授予」。
