Definition

短時間の激しい雨に雷が伴う現象です。主に天気予報で使われます。

天気予報でよく使われ、「thunderstorm」（雷雨）より短くて軽い雨を表します。「局地的な雷雨」など複数形で使う場合が多いです。

We might have thundershowers this afternoon.

今日の午後は**雷雨**があるかもしれません。
