Usado principalmente em previsões do tempo. Refere-se a chuvas rápidas e fortes com trovoadas; diferente de tempestades prolongadas ('thunderstorm'). É mais comum no inglês americano e frequentemente aparece no plural: 'scattered thundershowers'.
