মধ্যরাতের পর এবং সূর্য ওঠার আগের সেই কয়েক ঘণ্টা, সাধারণত রাত একটার পর থেকে ভোরের দিকে।

'ভোররাত' বিশেষত গভীর রাতে বা খুব সকালেও ঘুম না যাওয়া বা কাজ করার ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'the small hours' বলতে সাধারণ ভোরবেলা বোঝানো হয় না।
