'Tear up' का अर्थ चीज़ को फाड़ना या भावनात्मक होकर आँसू आने से है। संदर्भ से अर्थ साफ़ होता है। सामान्यतः भूतकाल ('tore up') या 'started to tear up' (भावुक होना शुरू करना) में प्रयोग होता है।
