"take it that" in Japanese

〜だと理解する〜だと思う

Definition

誰かの言動や状況から、何かが本当だと推測すること。はっきり言われなくてもそうだと思う時に使います。

日常会話で使われ、推測や暗黙の理解を表します。指示や命令の意味では使いません。「take it that you〜」のように続けます。

I take it that you're coming to the party.

君はパーティーに来る**んだと思うよ**。

We take it that the meeting is still on.

会議はまだ行われる**んだと思っています**。

You didn’t call, so I take it that you’re busy.

電話がなかったから、君は忙しい**んだと思う**。

So, can I take it that you agree with me now?

じゃあ、今は私に賛成してくれる**と思っていい？**

If nobody objects, I’ll take it that everyone’s happy with the plan.
