Definition

कीचड़ में चलने जैसे गीली, चिपचिपी आवाज़ निकालना। यह किसी विचार या आवाज़ को जबरन दबाने का भी मतलब हो सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

अक्सर गीली ज़मीन या कीचड़ में चलने की आवाज़ के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है। औपचारिक या स्कूल आदि में राय/विचार दबाने के लिए भी बोले जाते हैं, जैसे 'squelching dissent'। आम बोलचाल में बहुत सामान्य नहीं।
