어떤 중심점이나 물체 주위를 원을 그리며 움직였다. 어떤 이야기가 특정 주제나 사람을 중심으로 전개될 때도 쓴다.

주로 공식적·과학적으로 많이 쓰며, 비유적으로는 'revolved around'처럼 무언가를 중심 소재로 삼을 때 사용. 빠르고 작은 회전에는 'spun'이 쓰임.
