裁判所に出廷するなど、特定の条件を守ると約束して、保釈金なしで釈放される法的な制度です。主に法的な文脈で使われます。

とてもフォーマルで法律用語として使われます。「own recognizance」や「released on recognizance」という表現で登場します。お金が絡む「保釈」とは異なります。
