手や体を使って誰かや何かを自分から遠ざけること。また、人を感情的に拒絶する意味もある。

物理的にも感情的にも使われる表現。「push someone away」は助けや愛情を拒む、という意味にもなる。「pull away」と混同しないよう注意。
