信じがたいことをわざと本当のように言って、冗談を言ったり、誰かをからかったりするときに使う表現です。

とてもカジュアルな表現で、主にイギリス英語特有です。日本語では『冗談でしょ？』『からかっているの？』などに当たります。フォーマルな場面では使いません。

Are you serious, or are you pulling the other leg?

本気なの？それとも私を**からかっている**の？

He tried to pull the other leg, but I knew the story wasn't true.
