"prorate" in Korean
Definition
비용이나 금액을 사용한 시간이나 받은 비율에 따라 공정하게 나누는 것. 모두에게 똑같이 주는 것이 아니라, 실제 사용한 만큼 계산함.

주로 청구나 계약, 경영 등의 공식적 상황에서 사용됨. 예: 'prorate your rent'는 사용한 일수에 따라 월세를 계산한다는 뜻. 'allocate'와 혼동하지 말 것, 'allocate'는 항상 비례로 나누지 않을 수 있음.
